The new Deseret Peak High School (DPHS) is Tooele County School District’s newest high school, built to address rapid community growth.

The 336,000-square-foot campus is designed to hold 1,800 (approximately) students beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. The Deseret Peak High School project is part of a $170 million bond initiative passed in 2020 to expand educational facilities across the district.

Project Goals

Developed by VCBO Architecture, the school’s design focuses on efficiency, flexibility, and collaboration. Key building goals included:

  • Achieving a 95% classroom utilization rate by relocating teacher offices outside classrooms.

  • Providing a range of learning environments, including small and large classrooms and collaborative suites.

  • Using sustainable operating methods when possible, such as daylighting, energy-efficient systems, and thoughtful land use.

  • Creating a campus culture centered on engagement, belonging, and forward-thinking education.
